Georgian Government welcomes the Luxembourg-to-Georgia Aviation Expedition at Batumi
The Luxembourg-to-Georgia Aviation Expedition — organised by Peter Sodermans, Honorary Consul of Georgia in Luxembourg — was officially received by representatives of the Georgian Government on arrival at Batumi International Airport on 2 September 2026. The Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published a news release on the visit, which you can read on the ministry’s website.

The expedition brought together 26 private aircraft and around 60 pilots and passengers from across Europe on a route from Luxembourg to the Caucasus, timed to coincide with the opening of the Ambassadori Aviation Village in Kakheti. Organised in cooperation with the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the initiative aims to promote Georgia as a tourism and investment destination and to deepen connections between the Georgian and European private aviation communities.
“This unique initiative has been bringing Luxembourg and Georgia closely together. We received an unparalleled warm welcome from the Georgian Government.”
Peter Sodermans, Honorary Consul of Georgia in Luxembourg

The delegation was received on the tarmac at Batumi International Airport by senior members of the Georgian Government. Further images and details from Peter’s meetings with the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister will be added shortly.
