Exploring Health Tourism Synergies Between Georgia and Luxembourg

🇱🇺 In Luxembourg, wellness meets medical excellence. The iconic Mondorf Domaine Thermal is more than just a spa — it’s a leading health and wellness centre in the Grand Duchy.

During my recent visit as Honorary Consul of Georgia, I had the pleasure of being joined by Nikolaus (Nika) Tsiklauri, Director of Strategic Initiatives at the newly created Georgian Resorts Agency 🇬🇪.

We were warmly welcomed by Fränz D’ONGHIA, Directeur Santé, who shared some remarkable insights:

🔹 340 employees, including 110 in the medical department

🔹 Over 400 patients per day

🔹 80% of visits are for medical treatments

An exciting future lies ahead: In 2020, Luxembourg’s Parliament gave the green light to a €135 million investment for the expansion and renovation of the Domaine Thermal. This major project — co-financed by the State, the Caisse Nationale de Santé, and the Domaine itself — will modernise the facility and further enhance its mission to provide high-quality health and wellness services.

Together with our partners, we are now exploring synergies and collaboration opportunities between Georgia and Luxembourg in health tourism, wellness innovation, and medical spa infrastructure. Both countries bring unique strengths to the table.
