Luxembourg marked its National Day on 23 June 2026 — the first
under Grand Duke Guillaume — with ceremony, music, a military
parade, and generous hospitality. Georgia’s Honorary Consul and
Ambassador were present throughout. Two small countries. Big
hearts. And, on a day like today, an exceptionally good table.
A Georgian parliamentary delegation visited Luxembourg on 16 June 2026, meeting with lawmakers and the Foreign Ministry to strengthen bilateral ties and call for the resumption of Georgia–EU dialogue.
On 14 June 2026, Honorary Consul Peter Sodermans welcomed Georgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili to Luxembourg City, alongside Ambassador Vakhtang Makharoblishvili. Discussions covered the Georgian diaspora, business and university cooperation, and the Private Pilot Expedition Georgia 2026 — a fleet of 27 European private aircraft bound for the Caucasus this September.
There are evenings that stay with you long after the last glass has been raised and the last guest has departed. The Georgian Independence Day reception held on 4 June 2026 at Brussels’ BELvue Museum was one of those evenings — a night that brought history, diplomacy, and shared European values into vivid focus.
